I am really unimpressed with my whole experience, the hotel itself, is a beautiful building but, as for the the hotel experience I am not impressed, due to there not being any bulmers, the lift up to my room was broken!

Very Average At Best. We had our company dinner there in December. Food was average at best. Absolutely nothing to write home about. The steak was like leather. Service average. Rooms were spacious and very clean. Staff were ok but some could be a bit friendlier. The grounds are impressive and would be very nice in Summer. The hotel was ok for us for our 1 night stay. We like to choose somewhere close by and this year we stayed in the Celbridge Manor Hotel. On arrival, the hotel looks impressive; a beautiful building and picturesque driveway. There is a smell of damp or drains in the hallways and lift which is not pleasant. Parking was easy, check-in was quick and our room was very spacious. Then when I tried to take a shower, there was no hot water. I rang reception who were to return my call but after 15 minutes sitting in a towel with half wet hair, I had to put my clothes back on and go down to reception.

In fairness, they did offer us a different room immediately, where I enjoyed a nice hot shower. Unfortunately, I realised later that night that the new room must have been positioned above the function room, so we had to wait until the entertainment finished to get to sleep at 2am.

My sister-in-law was given some excuse about lack of space in the dining room. Dinner service was unbelievable poor - no wine list given, forgot to take orders from 2 people and had to be called back, cold mashed potato that had to be sent back, no offer of adding a 3rd course at additional cost, no offer of tea or coffee at additional cost even though we had a small birthday cake brought out for my father-in-law.

My starter goats cheese salad was fine, but my main course beef medallion left a lot to be desired. It was edible because I was hungry, but the meat was very dry and tough and the pepper sauce was barely warm. That said, some others in the group said their beef was fine, so maybe I was just unlucky. Breakfast was nice, and we came down early so it was all fresh and hot. I spoke to the manager on check-out and explained all the issues I witnessed. She was very apologetic and promised to look into them, however there was no attempt to offer any sort of compensation for our poor experience, probably because we had prepaid using those vouchers.

There is no point in running promotions if all they do is provide a bad experience. I will not be returning to Celbridge Manor and I certainly would not recommend it to friends. Sep I don't know what refurbishment was to done. Hotel has not reopened yet because of Coid I have stayed there a few times and have no negative comments to make.
