I stayed here on business for two nights - although I've been to Dublin many times before on both business and pleasure [ a favourite city for sure! If you don't know Dublin well ,or are coming for the first time, you should perhaps be aware that you won't be stepping out into the likes of St Stephen's Green or Merrion Sq. You can walk though to the very excellent LUAS metro which goes direct to St Stephen's Green - it is about 10 minutes away to the stop.
I arrived at night and the welcome was both friendly and efficient. Date of stay: October Helpful Share.
Please accept our sincere apologies that we did not meet your 4 star expectations, and your feedback will be discussed across the departments as we obviously let ourselves down in terms of poor service and lack of attention to detail in several areas during your stay. I am sorry if we were not aware of such disappointment during your stay as I would have been pleased to investigate and meet with you at that time. I hope you will allow us the opportunity to redeem ourselves by visiting us again and please contact me direct so that I may discuss your feedback in more detail and personally oversee a return visit.
Kind Regards, Raja Kamran. Booked with Lorna over the phone. Was not disappointed. The hotel on arrival is very funky and chic. Check in was quick and very pleasant.

We stayed on the fourth floor and our room was really beautiful. Great value, I liked that we could order whatever we wanted to. Just one small criticism, the restaurant is very dark, we could not really see what we were eating. Breakfast was good with a great selection. The staff are all very friendly, we asked for a late check out and the receptionist was very obliging. We went up into Dublin on the Luas, which was a five minute walk away for 9 euros return.
Time to stop and reconsider the Metrolink madness

Friendliness, value for money, location proximity to M Having stayed in an International hotel the previous week where I felt there was a deficit in Guest appreciation, it was very uplifting to stay at your fine establishment and I have since recommended your hotel to a number of friends.

I would like to thank all the team for a wonderful time I had at The Beacon Hotel, your service was exceptional! Any hopes that the plan may have sped up the delivery of Metro linking Swords and the City Centre were dashed as the estimated date for delivery of the project remained unchanged.
According to the plan, Metro Link will be a light rail system from Swords, via Dublin Airport to Dublin's south city centre operating in tunnel under the city centre and onwards to Sandyford using the existing Luas Green Line. According to the plan: 'This will provide Dublin with a high capacity, high-frequency cross-city rail corridor serving key destinations such as Swords, Dublin Airport, Dublin City University, Ballymun, the Mater Hospital and existing destinations along the Luas Green Line to Sandyford.

He said: 'While the Government's commitment to these projects is certainly positive, the fact remains that communities across the North County are still waiting for the sod to be turned on both of these projects. Advancing both of these projects to construction stage must be an absolute priority for Government.
He added: 'With regard to the delivery of both Metro Link and DART Extension to the Donabate, Rush and Lusk, Skerries and Balbriggan stations, I understand that for a number of people it may be a case of having to see works commencing to finally believe these projects will be delivered for our community. They say that existing passengers would be convoyed in buses from Sandyford to Charlemont during these periods.
So commuters in Cherrywood will take three journeys — one by tram to Sandyford, one by bus to Charlemont, and one by tram from Charlemont to their north-city destinations to get to work each morning.
That is three journeys — one by bus on very congested roads — twice a day. Think of the traffic chaos for those streets and adjoining areas which are just recovering from the hugely lengthy cross-city Luas works. Think of the effect on people going to and from Dundrum and Cherrywood as commuters and shoppers. The NTA is now considering abandoning the two-tunnel underground system so expensively devised and using a single, larger bore tunnel to carry driverless trains side by side in each direction.
That work too is included in their absurd 6 month time estimate for closing down the Green line! But even that does not avoid the need to seal off the line along its entire length so as to accommodate the high-speed driverless train service every two minutes. NTA argues that Cherrywood will soon be a town of 35, inhabitants and that the existing Luas Green line service will not be able to cope with the demand. Well, remember this, Cherrywood is not getting any Metrolink service. The planned Metro will stop at Sandyford and will not go further. Cherrywood residents will have to use a separate tram to reach Sandyford.
