Augherea Guest House Reviews, Longford

Truly the most special place in Ireland. A true hidden gem, I happily travel from the far end of Ireland just to stay at Augherea House. It is an extremely high quality guest house, with phenomenal service provided by Matt. My favourite place to visit, we have returned quite a few times and always look forward to our stays. I found the guesthouse, environs and staff were far above my expectations. I would recommend staying here, and plan on returning on my next trip to Longford. The guesthouse is modern, the rooms are spacious and well turned out. Breakfast was well cooked and plentiful, with plenty of options. Date of stay: April Helpful Share. I checked the email multiple times to make sure I had the agreed-upon price correct in my head. Bargain for a beautiful property we stayed in the coach house with very modern architecture.

Biscuits and tea were brought out on arrival and Matt gave us some good dinner recommendations. Quick walk to the Longford soccer match which was a good time!

Lovely location to visit family in Longford. We enjoyed the warm and quiet attention from Matt and will definitely come again. Had to make a stopover in Longford on the way to Sligo and consulted the great oracle that is Google.

Rave Tripadvisor reviews encouraged me to make a booking and as I'm about to leave I'm adding to the very positive experiences of so many past visitors. The much hackneyed phrase "hidden gem" has become so devalued because many so called gems are often quite the opposite. Augherea House sets the benchmark for "hidden gem" status. It combines our rich architectural heritage with the best in contemporary design. We arrived just before midnight and as Matt welcomed us to our superb room he came with a tray of tea and freshly baked scones.

Breakfast was equally superb. Go there, you won't be ….

Stayed here with the hubby and some friends for a friends birthday a few weeks back, Matt welcomed us with fresh coffee and cup cakes. The bedrooms were of a generous size with a walk in wardrobe. Breakfast the next morning was fab with a great selection to meet everybody's taste.. Hubby had smoked kippers and I had the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs cooked with love!! Matt is very accommodating for everybody's dietary needs.
